Terms of Use
DraftDraft – not yet legally reviewed. Highlighted parts are still to be added.
Status: draft of 1 October 2026
This English text is a convenience translation. The German version is binding.
These terms govern the use of MeinHelfer. Sections marked “applies once paid plans are introduced” only apply once we offer paid plans.
§ 1 Provider and scope
MeinHelfer is provided by Pratiush Sharma – an individual who develops and runs MeinHelfer as a sole trader (“we”). You can find our contact details in the imprint.
These terms apply to the website, the web app and the apps for iOS and Android. Other terms only apply if we expressly agree to them.
§ 2 What MeinHelfer does
MeinHelfer explains letters from authorities, insurers and other organisations in plain language and in your language, recognises deadlines and amounts, reminds you of them and drafts replies.
Nothing is sent or paid without your approval. Reply drafts are suggestions: you check them and decide whether and how to use them.
MeinHelfer is at an early stage (beta). Features may change, be added or be removed.
§ 3 No legal or tax advice
MeinHelfer gives general help in understanding your mail. It is neither legal advice nor tax advice and does not replace them. We do not review your individual case legally.
When a lot is at stake – for example a decision you want to challenge, reminders about large amounts or tight deadlines – please get advice from a lawyer, a tax adviser or an advice centre.
§ 4 Content from artificial intelligence
Explanations, translations, recognised deadlines and amounts and reply drafts are created with artificial intelligence. They can be incomplete or wrong, for example if a photo is blurred.
The original letter always prevails. Please check important details, especially deadlines and amounts, in the original yourself.
§ 5 Account and minimum age
You need an account to use MeinHelfer. You must be at least 16 years old.
Please keep access to your email inbox protected, because that is how you sign in. If you suspect someone else has access to your account, let us know immediately.
§ 6 Household
You can invite other people into your household and give them rights. Members see the household’s shared letters, except other members’ health letters. Only invite people you want to give this insight to.
§ 7 Your obligations
Only upload letters that are addressed to you or your household or that you are entitled to handle, for example as a legal guardian.
Do not use MeinHelfer for unlawful purposes, to harm others, or to disrupt the service, scrape it automatically or circumvent protective measures.
§ 8 Your content
Your letters and documents remain yours. You only allow us to store and process them as far as necessary to provide MeinHelfer to you. How we handle your data is described in the privacy policy.
§ 9 Free use and availability
MeinHelfer is currently free of charge. Allowances may apply to free use, such as a maximum number of letters per month; they are shown in the app.
We strive for operation that is as uninterrupted as possible but cannot promise constant availability, for example during maintenance or outages at service providers.
We may change or discontinue the free service. We will inform you in good time of significant restrictions so that you can download your data.
§ 10 Paid plans (applies once paid plans are introduced)
Conclusion of contract: you can choose a paid plan or an add-on pack in the app. Before buying you see the price, the term and the features. The contract is concluded when you tap the “Subscribe with obligation to pay” or “Buy now” button and we confirm the order.
Prices: all prices are final prices and include statutory VAT. [to be added: if the small-business scheme applies, instead: “No VAT is charged under § 19 UStG.”]
Payment: you pay in advance for the chosen period. If you buy in the iOS or Android app, payment runs through Apple or Google; their terms also apply. [to be added: payment provider for the web app]
Term and renewal: a monthly plan runs for one month, a yearly plan for one year. It renews automatically for the same period unless you cancel beforehand. After its first term, a yearly plan continues for an indefinite period and can then be cancelled at any time with one month’s notice (§ 309 no. 9 BGB).
Cancellation: you can cancel at any time with effect from the end of the current term – in the web app via the “Cancel contracts here” button in the settings (§ 312k BGB), which is always reachable without signing in, or by email. For purchases via Apple or Google, you cancel in your device’s subscription settings. After cancelling you receive a confirmation by email.
Price changes: we only change prices for running plans with your consent. If you do not agree, you can cancel at the end of the term.
Add-on packs (for example extra letters) apply for the stated period and do not renew.
§ 11 Withdrawal information (applies once paid plans are introduced)
Consumers have a fourteen-day right of withdrawal.
Right of withdrawal: you have the right to withdraw from this contract within fourteen days without giving any reason. The withdrawal period is fourteen days from the day the contract is concluded.
To exercise your right of withdrawal, you must inform us (Pratiush Sharma, email: info@meinhelfer.app) of your decision to withdraw from this contract by a clear statement (for example a letter sent by post or an email). You may use the model withdrawal form below, but it is not obligatory. To meet the withdrawal deadline, it is sufficient for you to send your communication concerning the exercise of the right of withdrawal before the withdrawal period has expired.
Effects of withdrawal: if you withdraw from this contract, we shall reimburse all payments received from you without undue delay and at the latest within fourteen days from the day on which we are informed of your decision to withdraw from this contract. We will carry out such reimbursement using the same means of payment you used for the initial transaction, unless you have expressly agreed otherwise; in any event, you will not incur any fees as a result of such reimbursement.
If you requested the services to begin during the withdrawal period, you shall pay us an amount proportionate to what has been provided until you have communicated to us your withdrawal from this contract, in comparison with the full coverage of the contract.
Early expiry: for a contract for digital content not supplied on a tangible medium (for example an add-on pack), the right of withdrawal expires when we have begun performance after you expressly agreed that we begin before the withdrawal period ends, you confirmed that you thereby lose your right of withdrawal, and we have confirmed the contract to you (§ 356(5) BGB). For a subscription (digital service), the right of withdrawal expires when we have fully provided the service and you expressly agreed beforehand that we begin before the withdrawal period ends (§ 356(4) BGB).
Before purchase we therefore ask you in the app: “I expressly agree that MeinHelfer begins performance before the withdrawal period ends. I understand that for digital content I thereby lose my right of withdrawal.”
End of withdrawal information.
Model withdrawal form – if you want to withdraw from the contract, please complete and return this form:

§ 12 Deleting your account and suspension
You can delete your account at any time in the settings. You then have 14 days to undo the deletion; after that we delete your account and your data. Download your data first if you want to keep it. If you bought a paid plan via Apple or Google, you must cancel it separately.
We may terminate the free user agreement with four weeks’ notice. Both sides keep the right to terminate for good cause, for example if you misuse MeinHelfer. In such a case we may also suspend your account temporarily.
§ 13 Liability
We are liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, under the Product Liability Act and where we have given a guarantee.
For slight negligence we are only liable if we breach an essential contractual obligation – an obligation whose fulfilment makes the use of MeinHelfer possible in the first place and on whose observance you may regularly rely. In that case liability is limited to the foreseeable damage typical for the contract.
Where you use MeinHelfer free of charge, we are only liable for intent and gross negligence and in the cases in sentence 1 (in line with §§ 521, 599 BGB).
Because AI content can be wrong (§ 4) and is not legal advice (§ 3), it remains your task to check deadlines and amounts in the original.
§ 14 Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, we show you the new version in the app and ask for your consent. Without your consent the previous version continues to apply; we may then terminate the contract under § 12.
§ 15 Applicable law, place of jurisdiction, language
The law of the Federal Republic of Germany applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. As a consumer you keep the protection of the mandatory provisions of the country where you habitually reside.
If you are a merchant, a legal entity under public law or a special fund under public law, the place of jurisdiction is Fellbach (Amtsgericht Waiblingen or Landgericht Stuttgart).
The German version of these terms is binding. Translations are only for better understanding.
§ 16 Consumer dispute resolution
We are neither willing nor obliged to take part in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board (§ 36 VSBG).
MeinHelfer never sends or pays anything without your approval.
